In all, 50 lifejackets tested:

Only 2 had hoods fitted - these calm you down, allowing breathing and prevent secondary drowning

74% had no crotch straps - these can prevent your LJ slipping off and keep your head 30% higher in the water

84% had no light - these help you be seen and help you feel that you'll be seen

16% has loose inflation cylinders - this may prevent full inflation of your LJ

1 LJ would NOT have worked, if it had been needed. Could your child have been wearing it?
