Negotiating and overseeing the removal of a part-finished project barge that had lain in a field near Henfield for over 4 years to its new home at a St Albans canal proved to be quite a task!

Hurdles to overcome included the barge having hugely increased its weight through fit-out, HGVs negotiating the electric gates and Alfred, the Rottweiler!

Full survey, followed by sealing works, modifications to skin fittings, and initial immersion overnight in strops to check for watertight integrity were all par for the course. Not to mention taking a few things off, so she could fit onto the lorry and under bridges!

All in a day's work!
